Village of Dansville Seeking Applicants for Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA)
The Village of Dansville is accepting applications from residents, property owners, and business owners interested in serving on the Village’s newly established Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). This is an unpaid, appointed position.
The Zoning Board of Appeals plays an important role in helping ensure the fair and consistent application of the Village’s zoning ordinance. The Board hears requests for variances and appeals related to zoning decisions.

We are seeking three (3) members who meet at least one of the following criteria:
  • Live within the Village of Dansville; or
  • Own a business within the Village; or
  • Own property within the Village
Responsibilities include:
  • Attend Zoning Board of Appeals meetings as needed.
  • Review application materials prior to meetings.
  • Hear appeals and variance requests in accordance with Michigan zoning law and the Village’s zoning ordinance.
  • Make fair, impartial decisions based on the facts and applicable regulations.
Training:
No prior zoning experience is required. Board members will receive required training to help them understand their role and responsibilities.
